Why IPL is so popular in just one year? Why we should watch the second version? These two questions are well answered by the way match progressed between BANGALORE ROYAL CHALLENGERS and DECCAN CHARGERS today. Some fans of this t20 league were in mood to take rest and leave this match because the two teams playing today were the last two teams in the rank table of IPL-1. But the performance shown by both team never reflect that they have any effect of that fact. And you may surprise but this was the most interesting IPL match of 2009.
Toss result was in favour of DECCAN CHARGERS and GILLY decided to bat first. GILLY was keen to prove his decision right and he did it by hitting 3 fours in a row in the first over and 2 four and a six in the next over. GIBBS also supported him and made 13 by including a four and a six in seven delivery. The score was 46 run in just 3.4 over but then PRAVEEN KUMAR strikes and GIBBS had to return back. Soon LAXMAN also departed by but this doesn’t made any effect on GILLY’S batting and he continued his blasting innings. Then ROHIT SHARMA came to bat and he supported his captain well and both started smashing blower’s bowl and mind form both end of the track. They added 60 runs in just 6 overs . They are showing that type of cricket which is famous in IPL . you can imagine the situation by knowing that GILLY made 71 runs in just 44 delivery with 6 fours and 5 sixes and ROHIT made 50 runs in 30 balls with 5 sixes and a single four. There was nothing left to do for the rest batsman .T he final score was 184/6.
In reply it was really a bad start for ROYAL CHALLENGERS with loosing the wicket of t20 specialist batsman RYDER on the first delivery of innings while chasing such a huge target. He was clean bold by EDWARD. R P singh gave another blow to opposition on score 19 by taking wicket of veteran KALLIS.he added just 15. ROBIN UTHAPPA also couldn’t able to convert his start in big score and got out by STYRIS after making 12. PIETERSON again disappointed MALYA (owner of the team) and couldn’t able to understand spin of OJHA and tried to hit it by coming out of crease and the rest was done by GILLY . he stumped on 11. The score was 62/4 but the entertainment is yet to shown by the CHALLENGERS. THE “WALL OF INDIAN CRICKET” DRAVID and U-19 WORLD CUP CHAMPION’S CAPTAIN KHOLI were in the center. They started batting confidently and hitted fours and sixes and tried to chase the growing run rate for win. RAHUL hitted 5 fours and 2 sixes in his 48 run innings and partnership for 57 runs in 5 overs. It was STYRIS again who taken a crucial wicket and ended the hope generated by these two. KOHLI tried to fight with his half century knock including 7 fours but it was too late to win. The score of CHALLENGERS ended at 160/8 and they managed to reduce the defeat gap.
